The CSIT World Sports Games (WSG) are due to take place in Emilia Romagna, Italy from 5th to 10th September 2023. The WSG are a major multi-sports event held every two years, full of sports, sport for all, cultural exchange, fun and new opportunities.
These Games are not multisport games for top athletes, but for all amateurs from different countries and cultures all over the world. Not only is the organisation of competitions in the foreground, but also organizing a huge festival with the spirit of the beautiful region Emilia-Romagna at the famous Adriatic Sea coast. The objectives are the gathering of sports friends, as a worldwide family to advance making friends as well as the exchange of information, expertise and experiences within the multi-sport community of CSIT and its partners.

Once again, Athletics Leinster have been invited to take part in the competition and we hope to send a delegation of 12 athletes (6 male and 6 female) to take part. Athletics Leinster are committed to this event every 2nd year as we see it as valuable experience for athletes that are starting out on their journey towards major Junior, U23 and Senior championship events.
It is a major financial commitment from Athletics Leinster but one we believe is worth it from an athlete development perspective. Our focus is mainly on U23 athletes and younger but we also consider older athletes who have the potential to represent Ireland at future major championships.
County boards are asked to submit details for athletes they consider suitable for selection by Tuesday 20th June (ensuring athletes are available to travel)? You may nominate up to 2 female athletes and up to 2 male athletes using the following form:

The final team will be selected by an Athletics Leinster Selection Committee by 23rd June.
Athletes will be notified promptly and will have 24 hours to accept their selection. If they accept a place on the team, we will collect required information from them (passport details, etc) to allow us to meet the final entry deadline of 30th June. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a place on the team if the athlete does not accept and return the required information by the stated deadline.
